Jonathan Maltus, a winemaker with a storied background in Bordeaux, has always been a trailblazer. His journey to Napa Valley in 2008 wasn’t just an exploration; it was a mission to create something extraordinary. Inspired by his Old World roots and driven by a desire to push boundaries, Jonathan brought a distinctly French sensibility to the sun-drenched vineyards of California.

But this wasn’t about transplanting tradition wholesale. Instead, Jonathan set out to harmonize Napa’s breathtaking natural beauty and exceptional terroir with the precision and finesse honed through decades of winemaking experience in Bordeaux.

Nature as the Guiding Force

At the core of World’s End Wines lies an unwavering respect for terroir. Jonathan’s belief is simple: great wine begins in the vineyard. From the historic, gravelly soils of To-Kalon—Napa’s equivalent of Bordeaux’s First Growth vineyards—to the rolling hills of Monterey County and the sun-drenched slopes of Pritchard Hill, every site is chosen for its unique ability to produce exceptional fruit.

This connection to nature doesn’t stop at the vineyard. It carries through to the cellar, where the grapes’ natural qualities are carefully preserved and celebrated. Each wine reflects the land from which it comes, with bold flavors, elegant structures, and a sense of place that’s unmistakable.
