Top 3 Homemade Wine Cocktail Recipes for this Summer

By William Reed from https://www.myhomewine.com/

Summer is just around the corner and wine has always been a good company to enjoy a warm and beautiful sunset. Even though it’s commonly known to be more of a winter’s drink, whether you have a bottle of red, white, or sparkling wine on your hand, you can use it to create some fascinating, fresh and tasteful wine cocktails to get you through the Summer.

They’re quick to make, extremely tasty, pack some solid ABV, and are also simple to throw together. All you need as a base is a great wine – bought or homemade. If you want to learn some homemade wine recipes, you can check this list and make yours to not only use on cocktails but to drink neat as well. Now, here are three recipes you can try at home, whether you’re having a nice summer dinner, planning a party for your friends and family, or you just want to have some relaxing, personal time off.

Frosé

We all know how popular Rosé is among wine tasters, especially at this time of the year. Here’s a simpler and cheaper option you might enjoy that will definitely refresh the mood.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Of a cup of sugar
  • 1/4 Of a cup of water
  • 1 bottle of Syrah Rosé (other Rosés – such as these – also work, but this one will blow your mind)

Preparation

Combine the sugar and the water and stir it at a low heat (you can heat it on the microwave) until the sugar is completely dissolved. Then, let it cool down until it reaches room temperature, and pour it into a large, chilled pan, also adding the bottle of Rosé – go for a sip before pouring it, you deserve it! Stir it and place it inside your freezer until your mixture is nearly frozen – at least six hours.

When you wish to serve it, pour the frozen cocktail into the blender and blend it until it gets a smooth texture. We suggest serving the liquor in fresh glasses alongside raspberries or blueberries, fresh herbs (mint is great), and citrus.

Tropical Twist

Perfect for a Hawaiian theme party, the Tropical Twist is a very fresh cocktail that will surely pull out the best dance moves from anyone who drinks it. Not only is it easy to make, but it’s also a perfect way to start a dinner, sort of like an appetizer, or to serve afterwards when the sun starts setting.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 oz. of lime juice
  • 1/2 oz. of honey syrup
  • 1/2 oz. of rum
  • 2 oz. of Giuliana’s Prosecco (Again, other Proseccos will work, but this one is our favorite – to learn more about this beautiful sparkling wine, be sure to read this guide)

Preparation

In a cocktail shaker, mix the freshly squeezed lime juice, the honey syrup, and the rum. Then, add a couple of ice cubes and shake it vigorously. Add the Giuliana’s Prosecco and pour the whole thing into a champagne flute (a regular glass is fine, but you won’t get style points). Add a finishing touch with a lime peel and serve immediately.

Grapefruit Spritz

Spritz is an Italian appetizer, usually served before dinner parties. It’s very common in southern Italy to have a spritz just before dinner, whether you’re with friends and family, at home, or chilling in a beach bar – and this one, made from grapefruit, is a fantastic choice.

Ingredients

  • 1 to 1/2 oz. of grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 oz. of Vermouth
  • 1-2 tablespoons of syrup
  • 4 to 5 oz. of Riondo’s Prosecco (Same deal here, most Proseccos will work fine)

Preparation

Mix the grapefruit juice, the sweet Vermouth, and the simple syrup we’ve taught you how to do it with the water and the sugar, on the first recipe, in the shaker. Fill the rest of the cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled (or until you get sore arms, whichever comes first). Strain the liquid into an iced glass, top with the Riondo’s Prosecco, and garnish with a slice of grapefruit.

Now You’re Ready for Summer

Not only will these drinks offer an exciting new taste based on wine’s classic and incredible potential, but they’re also extremely easy to make, as well as delicious! It creates a fresh, fun mood to start a party and it also goes perfectly alongside some jazz music and a warm sunset, gently combined with the summer breeze. Finally, it’s also the perfect ending for a romantic date – and that you can trust! Thank you for reading and enjoy your new wine cocktails!
