2018 Sage Ridge Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Producer Notes
'Argot' - a shared language associated with tight-knit groups, borne from and reinforcing said group's intimacy. Argot is a word of Latin origin that, like many concepts unique to a given culture's language, has an English definition sorely lacking in the idea's full essence. Argot is a language that develops from intimacy, like-mindedness, and mutual respect - family, friends, co-workers, the people we drink wine with, and so on. Each group has its own Argot, unique to its members, that creates a meaningful and lasting connection for those who share it. We feel everything about wine creates this special bond. Sharing a bottle of wine opens channels to generate conversation and lead to connections and memories that last a lifetime. In christening our wine brand Argot, we honor the beautiful symmetry and complementary nature wine and communication hold.
About the Producers
Owners Justin and Beth oversee every aspect of Argot - from the vineyard, the winery, the bottle, and all things in between. They are proud to be a first-generation winery, making a name for their family by producing some of the greatest wines in California and beyond.
Vineyard Notes
Rising high above Lake Hennessey, adjacent to Pritchard Hill, in Napa's eastern hillsides, Sage Ridge is a terroir of unparalleled drama and ferocity. Vinerows trace highly exposed, barren ridgetops, producing tiny berries of incredible concentration and color and heady wines endowed with heavenly aromatics and luxuriously suave textures.

The Cabernet Sauvignon Sage Ridge Vineyard is a more lifted, perfumed wine and has a great nose of blueberries, mulberries, wildflowers, cedary spice, and incense. This carries to a beautifully textured, full-bodied, elegant 2018 with loads of texture and richness, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It’s one of the more approachable Cabernets in the lineup, but my money is on it evolving gracefully for 15-20 years with no issues.
