Nestled among the peaks and valleys of Spain's Sistema Iberico mountain range, Carinena's hot summers and mitigating cierzo winds produce truly distinctive wines. 80-year-old Garnacha vines, as well as decades-old Tempranillo and indigenous Carinena bear fruit that breathes the terroir of this rugged plateau. The resultant wine is deep, dark, peppery and smoky, with a strong spine that supports a muscular body, with loads of maturation potential. This is an astonishing price for something with so much power!

Tasting Notes
Colour: Intense, red cherry.
Bouquet: Rich in aromatic sensations, with touches of balsamic, mineral, mature fruit preserve, liquorice, chocolate, toasty flavours and soft vanillas from the oak. Spicy and smoked.
In the Mouth: Tasty and expressive, balanced with great vigour, full-bodied and velvety.

Inky ruby. The nose opens slowly to display scents of primary black and blue fruits, licorice and smoked meat, with a peppery quality adding lift. Vibrant and emphatically fruity on the palate, offering bitter cherry and boysenberry flavors that are given lift and spine by juicy acidity. Concentrated, lively wine with strong finishing cut and chewy, gripping tannins.
