The 2015 bottling by Domaine Perraud hails from the La Roche Vineuse commune of the southerly Maconnais region, where abundant sunshine lets Chard show off its zesty, citrus-scented side. Barrel aging gives this French offering a spicy kick that melds into a core of starfruit, wet stone, and white blossom. The Vineyard
Our Macon La Roche-Vineuse vines are situated in the village of La Roche-Vineuse. The wines are aged in oak barrels to give them their full flavour.

Vinification
Long fermentation in temperature-controlled oak barrels with spontaneous malolactic fermentation. Vinification on lees, exclusively in oak barrels, with the least intervention possible, for 8 to 10 months. Long stabilization with moderated cooling. Bentonite fining if necessary. A single light filtration before bottling. Bottling is undertaken by a specialized firm using synthetic corks or DIAMS.

This is a ripe, toasty wine with rich yellow fruits and a smooth texture. Now totally mature, this is delicious, full and ready to drink.

The 2015 Macon la Roche Vineuse has a very minty, rather ersatz bouquet that feels showy. The palate is spicy and slightly reduced, quite rich and generous, a later-picked Macon that fortunately retains balance. I guess you could call this a "glou-glou" Macon - which might be what you are looking for!
