Winemaker Notes
While the yields were low in the 2015 vintage, the quality was high. The growing period began with uncommonly warm temperatures in the late winter and early spring, which resulted in an early bud break and bloom. Alpha Omega started and completed harvest the earliest in its history. The beauty of this vintage is that a limited number of 100+-degree days bolstered the concentration and power of our fruit. The vintage left us with a round, voluptuous profile, which we complemented by extracting plenty of tannins to support it. The results are very complex and full-bodied wines. -Jean Hoefliger

Vineyard Notes
Alpha Omega has long term leases on each of the vineyards that we farm for our Cabernet Sauvignon. Farming by our Alpha Omega Vineyard Management team allows for a level of control vital to our mission of producing world-class wine. For this vintage, our Cabernet Sauvignon was handcrafted from fruit from a range of exceptional Napa Valley terroirs in the sub-appellations of Rutherford, Spring Mountain, St. Helena, and Coombsville.

Color: Deep, dark, black olive with touches of currant and mahogany
Nose: Beautiful cedar with touches of thyme, licorice, pine needles, plum, tapenade, sour cherry, and lemon meringue pie
Palate: Soft, velvety entrance evolving on generous fruit and silky tannins; lingering on boysenberries, dark cherries, mandarin orange, star fruit, and wild raspberries
Blend: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot
Fermentation: 50% barrel fermented, 50% stainless steel fermented
Aging: 22 months in 100% French oak (80% new, 20% 1-year-old barrels)
Vineyards: Green Valley (Coombsville), Newton (Spring Mountain), Partridge (St. Helena), Sacrashe (Rutherford)

This wine is pretty, floral and compact in red fruit, the texture soft and billowy on the palate. Rich and full-bodied, it has additional complexity from small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Integrated beautifully, it shows balance and power in equal measure.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is youthfully mute at this stage, offering peeks at red and black plum notes plus a spice box and pencil shavings undercurrent. Medium-bodied with straight-up lovely freshly crushed black fruit flavors, it has a soft, approachable backbone and pleasant lift on the finish.
