11*14 began in a small Napa vineyard we once called home and has grown to include a selection of our favorite AVAs within Napa. Each of these smaller sub-regions of Napa are guarded fiercely and promoted by their resident growers and winemakers. For a good reason, too, as each one has its own distinctive characters.

Wine Notes
Less than 3,000 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon can claim the distinction of being labeled Rutherford. The dirt of this AVA is legendary, and these vineyards are composed of gravel, loam, and sand with both volcanic and marine segments. The fruit that springs from this soil is the 'grab you by the throat,' 'hang on to your heart,' 'we are not playing coy' type of wine grapes. How something so unrestrained can be so elegant is an enigma lovers of Rutherford have been trying to puzzle out for decades. Ripe fruit and intensity of flavor with a fantastic structural backbone are hallmarks of this area, and our 2018 deals them in spades.
