Tasting Notes
Ruby red. Opens with pretty cherries and wild strawberries that meld seamlessly with underlying wild herbs, dried flowers, spice, and tea notes. On the palate, layers of sweet Bing cherries dance across the tongue while the seamlessly integrated acidity balances nicely with the expansive, bright texture. Medium finish, with fine and noble, silky tannins. Full-bodied and deliciously seductive now, but bet on its future when the roundness gives way to increased nuances. We suggest aging for at least a year to let the wine settle and develop in the bottle. Drink in 2-12 years.
Vintage Details
Our signature blend from our biodynamically farmed estate vineyard is styled for a classical expression of balance, complexity, and longevity. The 2013 growing season was ideal until harvest, when several rains washed out late-ripening sites. Some have labeled 2013 a tale of two vintages. We were fortunate to have picked nearly 70% of our fruit before the rains. Our post-rain picks were meticulously sorted, fermented separately, and mostly utilized in our Grape Republic Pinot Noir.

Lachini 2013 Lachini Family Estate Pinot Noir (Chehalem Mountains)
From: Chehalem Mountains, Willamette Valley, Oregon, US
Rating: 91 - Cellar Selection
Winery: Lachini
Region: Willamette Valley
Alcohol: 13.4%
Variety: Pinot Noir
Wine Type: Red
Issue Date: 12/1/2015
The ripe cherry fruit carries highlights of orange peel, herbes de Provence and Orange Pekoe tea. At first tannic and drying, the wine opens into a more giving, tongue-coating style. Slight bitterness may be a function of its youth, as the overall balance and complexity suggests it will improve with some additional bottle age. Drink 2018-2025.

A Pinot with dried-strawberry, walnut and stem aromas and flavors. Medium body, firm tannins and a savory finish. A little green but I still like it.

Crisp and tangy, with a nip of tannin at the forefront before the red cherry and floral flavors open out into a finish with presence and persistence. Best from 2017 through 2020.
