2014 Pinot Noir North Coast

Vintage Notes
2014 in the North Coast followed back-to-back banner years with yet another outstanding harvest. "Fast and furious" was the name of the game in 2014, as this year was perhaps the shortest and most condensed harvest season we've experienced. This relatively early, modestly warm season in Sonoma provided excellent fruit purity and concentration while maintaining balanced acidity and structure. These wines should be nicely approachable when young but possess great aging potential.

Tasting Notes
The 2014 Pinot Noir displays a dense ruby/purple color with bright red raspberry fruit characteristics typical of Sonoma Coast and Russian River Valley Pinots. Hints of savory herbal notes are layered in the mid-palate with rich black cherries, cassis, and blackberries, providing unmatched complexity. The finish dives deeper, bringing out hints of black tea, Asian spice, and sweet tannins that linger on the lengthy finish. Elegant and bold, this Pinot Noir stays true to the varietal and is best paired with duck, pheasant, lamb, and other light gamey dishes.
