2017 Brunello di Montalcino
Producer: Cordella
Place of Origin: Italy, Montalcino, Tuscany
Color: Red
Grape/Blend: Sangiovese
Rating: 87
Drinking Window: 2023 - 2025
From: Jekyll and Hyde: 2017 Brunello di Montalcino and 2016 Riservas (Dec 2021)
The 2017 Brunello di Montalcino is a fruit-forward and extroverted expression, with crushed violet candies and licorice giving way to medicinal cherry. It’s soft-textured yet fresh, delivering a mix of red and blue fruit propelled by juicy acidity. This leaves a coating of wild berries and inner rose tones to linger through the lightly structured finale.
