Producers Note
The origin of Vino Nobile goes back to the 17th century when it was defined as "The King of Tuscan Wines" (Francesco Redi, Bacco in Toscana). Doubtlessly drunk and appreciated by aristocrats and gentlemen - hence its name - this wine has transcended its fame to modern times. Today it is considered one of the most prestigious red Italian wines.

Vinification and Aging
Famiglia Castellani creates a higher quality Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, selected following strict quality standards concerning the color, the alcohol content, and the bouquet. This Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is produced and refined in the heart of the production area, between Val D'Orcia and Valdichiana, from vineyards in a countryside rich in monuments, villas, and country homes. The minimum aging period is 24 months in traditional oak casks. Thanks to its character, the Vino Nobile has great aging potential.

Tasting Notes
Brilliant ruby color tending to garnet with aging. Aromas of red currants and blackberries accompany light notes of violets and tobacco. Full and supple on the palate, the flavors show red fruit and delicate notes of vanilla and tobacco. The wine is soft on the finish with balanced tannins and acidity, which add to its savor and persistence.
