2015 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District

Vintage Notes
Vines got off to an early start due to unusually warm weather during winter and the first part of spring. Temperatures dropped substantially in May. This affected the development of grape bunches, leading to much lower yields than in the previous three years. Temperatures soon rose again, and remained warm for the duration. The combination of low crop load and warmth led to an early harvest.

Vineyard Notes
Spring Mountain is located above St. Helena, on the Eastern side of the Mayacamas, connecting with the border of Sonoma County to the North. The region gets its name from the many natural springs that mark the area. This vineyard area is especially unique in that it is over 1,900 feet, above the fog layer, allowing us an extra three hours of sunlight per day and particularly developed, beautiful grapes.

Tasting Notes
This 2015 Napa Valley Cabernet is a beautiful deep garnet-purple hue. It is full-bodied, luscious, and perfectly powerful in flavor. Right off the bat, intense dark fruit flavors are bursting - Wild blueberry, dark cherry, raspberry, and exotic spices. The tannins are well-structured, accompanied by a very broad finish full of length.
