2019 Stangeland Chardonnay

Producer Notes
By partnering with our new neighbors to the west, Stangeland has produced its first Dijon clone Chardonnay blend. It was barrel-fermented at cool temperatures in top-tier, lightly toasted French oak for smooth flavor extracting and maintaining maximum fruit character.

Appellation: Eola section of the Eola-Amity AVA
Elevation: 240 to 500 feet
Trellis: Guyot
Canopy Management: Shoot thinning and positioning, leaf removal
Terroir: Volcanic (67%), Marine and Alluvial (33%)

Vinification Details
Fermentation: 100% French oak at 58 degrees F
Yeast: CY3079 and L'Authentic (Naturally cultured in Montrachet)
Residual Sugar: 0.40%

Tasting Notes
Its flavor profile begins with vibrant minerality, creme brulee, lemongrass, and pear. As time and temperature increase, notes of lemon curd, apricot, white peach, and vanilla reveal themselves. This Chardonnay can be enjoyed early in life and will also show great rewards from long-term cellaring (4 to 8 years.)

Food Pairing
It pairs with nearly any dish but is best with seafood, dessert, and white sauce pasta.
