Vineyard Notes
On the banks of the Cher River, the vineyards of Domaine Beausejour, featuring an average of 25-year-old vines, stretch over 20 hectares of top soils comprised of clay-limestone and sand, with subsoils of clay and flint. This flinty soil is known as 'Silex' (one of the three main soil subtypes found in Sancerre) and produces a long-lived wine with a distinctive stony minerality with a gunflint quality.
Winemaking Notes
After the grapes are harvested, sorted, and pressed, the juice goes through temperature-controlled fermentations followed by aging on its lees with regular batonnage (lees stirring).

This is the first vintage from brothers Arnaud and Alberic Lechat, who took over from Philippe Trotignon, the fourth generation of the family to run the domaine. Characterised by both ripe stone fruit and exotic fruit, this shows a round texture in the mouth and flavours of mango and pineapple. This is quite a rich style of Touraine Sauvignon Blanc and is certainly an impressive start for the Lechat brothers. Domaine Beausejour, based in Noyers-sur-Cher, has 20ha of vines, with the majority planted with Sauvignon Blanc as well as one hectare of Sauvignon Rose.

Pale lemon in color, it has a nose of just-ripened green apple, dried herbs and hay. The wine reveals some minerality on the front palate, complemented by green fruit and notes of dill and honeysuckle, which add welcome depth.
